John Daniel
Co-founder and CEO, Bluff City Pickleball
John Daniel is a retired executive with a 47-year career history in the banking industry. Most recently, John was Chief Human Resources Officer at First Horizon Bank. He is a frequent speaker on culture, leadership and well-being, and he is deeply involved in the community. He serves on the boards of New Memphis, Seeding Success, and River City Capital and on the advisory board of Facing History. He also serves on the advisory board of a health technology company, Green Circle Life.
John was the recipient of the James House Williamson Award in 2020 as the most influential HR leader in Tennessee. He and his wife Leslie were honored with the Living Heart Award by the American Heart Association for their contributions to the AHA. John is a heart transplant recipient.
In 2022, he spent a year as a Fellow at Harvard University studying social impact strategies as part of the Advanced Leadership Initiative. In 2023, he and Leslie co-founded Bluff City Pickleball.
